GH5188 Cobalt Alloy
GH5188 is a cobalt nickel chromium, solid solution strengthened wrought high temperature alloy. Cobalt forms the balance, with 20% to 24% nickel, 20% to 24% chromium, 13% to 16% tungsten, and small additions of lanthanum and boron. Tungsten supplies solid solution strengthening, while chromium and lanthanum support oxidation and hot corrosion resistance. The source lists long term service at ≤1100℃, good room temperature ductility, and cold or hot workability into plate, bar, and forgings for load bearing, oxidation resistant high temperature parts.
