Hastelloy B3
Hastelloy B3 is a nickel molybdenum corrosion resistant alloy with about 65% nickel, 27% to 32% molybdenum, ≤3% iron, and ≤1.5% chromium. It resists strongly reducing media such as hydrochloric, sulfuric, and phosphoric acid, together with organic acids, chloride solutions, and non oxidizing salts. The source lists continuous service at about 1000℃, stable mechanical properties, good formability, and resistance to stress corrosion cracking and pitting. Uses include reactors, evaporators, agitators, transfer piping, acid gas equipment, and containers for strongly corrosive media.
