18Ni300 Maraging Steel
18Ni300 is an ultra high strength maraging steel containing 18% to 19% nickel, together with cobalt, molybdenum, and titanium. Carbon is limited to ≤0.03%. Strengthening comes from an ultra low carbon martensitic matrix formed by solution treatment and intermetallic precipitates such as Ni₃Mo and Fe₂Mo formed during aging. The source lists strength of ≥2000 MPa, high toughness, low distortion, and good weldability. It also retains impact and fatigue resistance at high strength and offers a degree of corrosion resistance.
