2205 Duplex Stainless Steel
2205 is a duplex stainless steel with an austenitic and ferritic structure. It contains 22% to 23% chromium, 4.5% to 6.5% nickel, 3.0% to 3.5% molybdenum, and 0.14% to 0.20% nitrogen. The source states that its yield strength is about 2 times that of austenitic stainless steel. It resists chloride pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking while retaining toughness and weldability. The source describes stable performance from -50℃ to +600℃ for demanding corrosive environments.
