253MA Stainless Steel
253MA is a heat resistant austenitic stainless steel containing 20.0% to 22.0% chromium, 10.0% to 12.0% nickel, 1.40% to 2.00% silicon, 0.14% to 0.20% nitrogen, and rare earth additions such as cerium. The source describes oxidation resistance, creep resistance, and high temperature strength from 850℃ to 1100℃, with scaling beginning at 1150℃. It also resists corrosion and erosion in several gas media and provides weldability, formability, and machinability as an economical alternative to some nickel based alloys.
