AL-6XN Stainless Steel
AL-6XN is a high molybdenum super austenitic stainless steel containing 6.3% molybdenum, 23.5% to 25.5% nickel, 20.0% to 22.0% chromium, 6.0% to 7.0% molybdenum, and 0.18% to 0.25% nitrogen. The source describes resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion in chloride environments as greater than that of 3 series stainless steel, while its cost is lower than nickel based corrosion resistant alloys. It also lists stable high temperature performance, strength, and toughness for severe corrosive service.
