15-5PH Stainless Steel
15-5PH is a martensitic precipitation hardening stainless steel developed from 17-4PH. Its adjusted composition includes 14.0% to 15.5% chromium, 3.5% to 5.5% nickel, and 2.5% to 4.5% copper. The source states that these changes improve transverse toughness and overall properties. Precipitation hardening combines strength, toughness, and corrosion resistance, making the grade a substitute for 17-4PH and conventional alloy steels in precision components exposed to complex stress and corrosive service conditions.
